Harare, January 27th, 2010
Following the the successful close to the year (2009), CIYDA is launching the first of many of the projects for 2010 in the form of the Youth Business Enterprise Award. The CIYDA team has encouraged all Zimbabwean youths from all walks of life, rural and urban, to whom this award is open to, to get on board this self-sufficiency and knowledge promoting initiative. The business enterprise initiative promises a CIYDA created, fun, interactive and networking environment.The Enterprise looks for youths to submit proposals in any of the following three categories:
1. Arts based enterprise (arts, crafts etc)
2. Technology based enterprise (innovation)
3. Service enterprise (general business including e.g. buying & selling)
With the enterprise award in two stages, it guarantees that the committed youths will get an opportunity to see their ideas through. The award for winners in each category is US$250 plus support from CIYDA and our sponsors and partners to work towards realizing their business idea.
Alongside the business enterprise award, CIYDA is running it's Knowledge Center initiative inviting all youths to submit articles for our on-line platforms. Inspirational articles in any of CIYDA's four areas of service will be awarded US$15. This award will be awarded monthly until the end of June 2010. All submitted articles will be featured on the CIYDA website with the most inspirational ones being made available to our members.
